Education and Outreach
The Lake George Land Conservancy works to raise community awareness about the
importance of land conservation by educating landowners, local professionals,
town boards, and local schools about available conservation options for
protecting natural lands in the Lake George basin. Programs and opportunities
include:
- Educational and Recreational Opportunities through our
Art Talks Series and
Walks&Talks excursions
and programs
- Public Relations: press releases, educational brochures and
newsletters
- Speaking Opportunities: we love to speak to various local groups
about our programs and the importance of protecting the water quality of
Lake George by preserving the surrounding lands. Please
contact us if you are interested
in arranging a speaker for your group, club, or school.
- Scholarship Program:
starting in 2012, LGLC offers scholarships to high school seniors pursuing
higher education
- Kids for
Conservation: a start-up program created to involve youth in
volunteer and recreational activities around the Lake George basin
If you would like to receive additional information about any of the programs
above, or would like to volunteer as a hike guide, program leader, public
speaker, or organizer for the Kids for Conservation program, please contact
Sarah at 518-644-9673 or shoffman@lglc.org.
