The Lake George Land Conservancy is turning 25!
Help us celebrate by joining our Hike-A-Thon, July 5, 2013!

What is the Hike-A-Thon?  LGLC's Hike-A-Thon is a one-day celebration during which each of our parks and preserves will be hiked simultaneously.  Aerial photographs will be taken of each group at their trail's summit or appropriate open area to document the lake-wide celebration.  Our goal is to have 450 – 500 people out on the trails and sharing in this grand adventure!

The helicopter flight for the aerial photography is provided by North Country Heli Flite; photographs will be taken by renowned nature photographer, Carl Heilman, II.  Specific times vary for each hike.  See our map and schedule below for more details about each location

Who can participate?
Anyone and everyone who loves Lake George and isn't afraid to show it.  Also anyone who wants to enjoy a free group hike or who just wants a free t-shirt.

Trails vary in length and difficulty so whether you are a family with young children or an experienced 46er, we can accommodate you!  Those who are not able to hike, or just don't want to, can still join us at our Peggy's Point park in Hague where we'll gather for a garden party instead.  Help us to plant some flowers or come just for the photo - all you need to do is register.

We're also looking for more Hike Captains - these fearless leaders will work as teams to lead each hike, check in participants and hand out Hike-A-Thon goodies.  Hike Captains are also responsible for recruiting as many friends and family as possible to join in the fun!

What does it cost to participate?
Nothing - it's absolutely free!

How do I sign up?  We need you to register in advance so we can keep track of who is going to be where, so we can get you the right sized t-shirt (for the photo!) and a certificate with your name on it.  To register, you must first decide which park or preserve group you'd like to join.  You can find details about each hike, including length and difficulty, in the map below.  Then click on the Register button at right, and follow the prompts.  Follow-up information will be sent to you by email so make sure you provide a valid email address.

The Hike-A-Thon would not be possible without the support of these sponsors - thank you!
