Join us on August 19th for our annual meeting, with guest speaker Michelle Clemente from the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) for a question and answer session regarding eco-tourism and engaging the next generation to better the work we do in our communities.
In addition to this presentation, LGLC will highlight the past year’s conservation accomplishments, financial status, and trusteeship.
Free lunch from FX3 Fit Food Fast will be provided as well as ice cream donated by Ben & Jerry’s of Lake George/Bolton Landing!
A guided 1-mile hike up the Pinnacle will also be offered, during which a dedication ceremony will take place at the summit for a newly installed plaque recognizing major donors to the protection of the Pinnacle.
This event is FREE and open to all. RSVP not required for the meeting, but is appreciated, especially if planning to attend the hike.
Michelle Clement is the Director of Destination Development Projects for the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST), the organization responsible for promoting Essex, Franklin and Hamilton counties in the Adirondacks of New York State. She researches and explores both new and existing tourism opportunities (proactive & reactive) in order to better leverage their economic impact on the Adirondacks, engaging in a wide range of destination development projects, programs and plans in varying capacities.
Ms. Clement and ROOST have been working with The Wild Center and other organizations to strategically market and provide for the next generation of conservationists and outdoorspeople while also promoting the benefits of eco-tourism on the economy and local communities.
