20th Annual Land & Water Conservation Celebration: August 2, 2019

In the summer of 2000, the Lake George Land Conservancy joined members of the Lake George Club to host a dinner to bring awareness to the unspoiled land across the lake on Pilot Knob Ridge, which, at the time, was under threat of logging and development. As a result of the event, and with the help of many throughout the community, that land was purchased by the LGLC and is now not only forever protected as the Schumann Preserve at Pilot Knob, but is also our most popular preserve and trail in the watershed.

While that summer evening was meant to be a one-time fundraising event, we are now celebrating what has evolved into the 20th Annual Land & Water Conservation Celebration, a record-breaking event that has raised nearly $1.3 Million for land protection in the past two decades.

This August, join us at the Inn at Erlowest as we celebrate our 20th Annual Gala! Many of our forested lands, clean streams, mountain views and more are protected forever because of you and your generosity at this event– now that is something to be proud of!

LGLC’s 20th Annual Land & Water Conservation Celebration

Where: The Inn at Erlowest          When: Friday, August 2nd, 2019

What: Cocktails, passed hor’s oeuvres, 2-course plated dinner, silent auction, Fund-A-Need with

Auctioneer Sherry Truhlar, live music and dancing with The New York Players

Why: To celebrate YOU and the tremendous impact you have made on the lands, streams, mountains,

trails, trees and crystal-clear waters of Lake George.

We’d like to take a moment to sincerely thank all of our friends, supporters, partners, board members, volunteers, committee members & staff for making this year’s 2018 Land & Water Conservation Celebration such a smashing success.

We were able to exceed our fundraising goals, break last year’s record and raise over $240,000 for the land that protects the lake!

Our Fund-A-Need alone raised over $130,000 for crucial current projects including combating the invasive pest Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA), acquiring the Saddlebrook property along the sensitive Indian Brook stream corridor and protecting a large parcel on French Mountain that we will work with partners to conserve.

Here’s a little preview of the evening from our photographer Krystal Brayton! See the full gallery HERE!
