Lynn Schumann
November 16, 1963 - March 13, 2010

With Lynn's leadership as executive director from 1999 to 2006, the Lake George Land Conservancy's membership increased from 250 to 1,171, and had protected nearly 5,000 acres of land and 11,000 feet of shoreline. Lynn left LGLC in March of 2006 to take on the position of regional director of the Land Trust Alliance.

"My greatest moment," Lynn said, "came after we purchased the Pilot Knob Ridge Preserve on the east side of the lake. The organization made a significant decision to remove the house situated prominently on the hillside. It was a sunny spring morning when the wrecking crew made its way up the mountain and began the process of demolishing the house. I peered out over the ridge and saw some 40 boats anchored along the shoreline cheering as the house came down."

Lynn passed away March 13, 2010, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She leaves behind many friends, family and colleagues who loved and respected her, her passion for the environment, and her passion for life.
