Bolton Landing, NY – The Lake George Land Conservancy (LGLC) is pleased to announce the addition of Paul Bell to its Board of Directors. Bell is a resident of Silver Bay, New York, and Pennington, New Jersey.
Bell is a senior media executive and business strategist with experience in advertising, broadcasting, marketing and publishing. He has over 30 years of volunteer service to non-profit organizations, including experience in leadership development, fundraising and governance. He is currently serving on the Boards of the Silver Bay YMCA and Grace Memorial Chapel at Sabbath Day Point, both on Lake George.
“I’m delighted to join the Lake George Land Conservancy Board,” said Bell. “My wife and I have enjoyed hiking on the lands preserved by the LGLC for many years. It’s been especially gratifying to explore the varied terrain, and enjoy the wildlife and gorgeous views of these protected lands.”
Founded in 1988, the LGLC is a non-profit land trust based out of Bolton Landing, whose mission is to protect the water quality of Lake George through land protection, stewardship, and community engagement.
“I’m humbled to have been selected to join the Board of this important land trust,” Bell added, “and build upon the work done by previous volunteers, including John Barber and Mark Johnson.”
“We are so glad to welcome Paul to the Board,” said LGLC Executive Director Jamie Brown. “He brings a vast pool of knowledge and experience, a love of the lake, and his involvement with our friends at Silver Bay offers a great way to create a synergy among the organizations working to make a stronger Lake George community.
“We saw great an example of this in 1999, when Mark Johnson, who was a leader at both the Silver Bay Association (now the Silver Bay YMCA) and the LGLC, brought people together to protect the Margaret Boyd Rowan Preserve across from the Silver Bay campus. Great things happen when we work together, and Paul is someone who believes in this concept and will work with all of us at the LGLC to continue our work with our partners to protect the land that protects the lake.”
Since 2013 Bell has served as General Manager, Business Operations, at Premiere Networks, a unit of iHeartMedia. He is responsible for all paid newsletter and website circulation development and management activities in Premiere’s talk-radio portfolio, including budgeting, marketing and vendor relationships. Prior to joining Premiere Networks, Bell was Vice President, Partner Businesses, at Dow Jones and Company, Inc., where he expanded The Wall Street Journal Sunday news content licensing business oversaw the growth of the “WSJ Wine” brand extension for existing customers and new accounts. He previously served as Vice President & Executive Director, Radio, at Dow Jones (1999-2006).
Bell earned a M.A. in Government and Politics at the University of Maryland, College Park, and a B.A. in Political Science and History at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
